IZAITE is a non-profit association comprising a group of private companies committed to sustainability.

IZAITE seeks to design actions that add value in these 3 fields:

Mission
To provide a forum for dialogue and learning, to exchange experiences on responsible initiatives and practices and to promote Business Sustainability, so that Businesses can contribute to the progress of Society and to Sustainable Development, in permanent coordination with the environmental framework programmes of the BAC and the Advanced Management strategy, always within a global approach aligned with international initiatives in this field.

Activities
- Share experiences in sustainable development.
- Promote training and awareness on sustainable development.
- Organise events related to sustainable development.
- Establish alliances, develop projects and collaborate with public administrations and institutions, foundations, private associations, universities and business schools, companies, individuals, and legal entities of all kinds in the field of sustainable development.
- Publish papers related to sustainable development.
- Promote the public acknowledgement of companies that stand out in this field.
- Discuss, analyse and make recommendations regarding sustainable development standards.
Requirements
This is an open association, made up of companies concerned with sustainability, with the following requirements for joining:
- Be based in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, or at least have one of its work centres there.
- Have an environmental management system in place in accordance with ISO 14001 and/or EMAS.
- Have a Health & Safety System in place in accordance with OHSAS 18001, UNE 81900 or similar.
- Embrace IZAITE's Sustainability Commitment.
- Have social and environmental commitments integrated into its strategy, allowing for Advanced Management.
- Be aligned with BAC sustainability programmes (environmental, social...), contributing with direct or indirect actions to achieving the established goals over which it has influence.
- Demonstrate the environmental compliance activities of supplier companies and how they adapt to the needs of the business.
- Accept a basic participation commitment (attendance at meetings and active participation).
- Agree to the Association’s articles of association.
